From Our Board of Directors
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Long Island Women's Soccer League. The primary goal of the L.I.W.S.L. is to help propel women's soccer in an age group virtually forgotten by other leagues. We work to fill the gap between U19 and over 26, which happens to be one of the most important age groups, comprising the majority of most semi-professional and National team rosters.
Who is Eligible?
With no age minimum or cap, the L.I.W.S.L. caters to a variety of players, from the most competitive high school player, to the recently graduated college player, all the way to the even more experienced over 30 player who is just not ready to slow down. We also accept team registration so that U19 teams can still play together in the summer after returning from college and college teams that want to play in the off season can stay in good physical condition and remain competitive.
What L.I.W.S.L. Offers
Some of the opportunities we offer to female players during the soccer year are three (3) seasons of play (fall, spring, and summer), an annual indoor tournament for winter play, and cup competitions. Also, we are host to the largest women's open outdoor tournament in the northeast, drawing teams from all over the country. And since we are affiliated with U.S. Club Soccer, your team may also be eligible for State and National Cup Competitions as well as out of state tournaments.
The most recent addition to our tournament schedule is the coed indoor tournament. Check the "tournaments" page often on these and other happenings.

The Long Island Women's Soccer League is proud to announce that our 18th Annual Luigi Pelini Memorial Tournament will help benefit the American Heart Association's GO RED for Women Movement. This year's event will be held on Saturday and Sunday August 1 and 2, 2009.
We are excited to expand the tournament, which has historically been limited to Open and Over 30, to host divisions for girls teams ages U14 to U18 in Divisions 1 and 2.
The LIWSL will be looking for event sponsors and vendors. If you are interested in becoming an event sponsor, placing an ad in the event program, or making an event donation, please CLICK HERE for more information. For information on becoming an event vendor please contact the director.
